This section is for discussion of anything Oldsmobile related. "Oldsmobile related" does specifically encompass Ransom Eli Olds. My particular knowledge is centered around the early 60's era Oldsmobiles; having owned or been involved with a 1960, 1961, 1962 (currently owned) 1963 and a 1967 model.

Any discussion of Gary requires a recognition that the perspective of one who lived there shall be far different from that of a person merely driving through on the way to some place else.

Believe it or not, Gary was a very good place to live and work in the 50's and 60's. Having said that, I must also admit that, sadly, those days are now long gone.

This area is for discussion of all things related to the murder of Gary (Indiana) Police Officer, Lt. George Yaros. He died in the line of duty in 1981. His killer was given the death sentence, but twenty-seven (27) years later he still receives 3 hots and a cot, daily, at the Indiana State Prison.

On the Officer Down! pages of Dave's Den, one may read about the event, the trial, the appeals and review the legal opinions rendered.

Jackie Wilson - "Mr Excitement"

Jackie Wilson was, and is, my favorite recording artist. The man could belt out a ballad, sing the blues or do R & B or soul like no one else! That he could is but one of the reasons he was known in the industry as "Mr. Excitement."
